Men Aren’t Men, Women Aren’t Women

I recently came across the following poem:

You should ask me,
    Me, me, me
Because I know-
I used to live
    On the Eastern Shore.
Men aren’t men,
And women aren’t women,
And people aren’t people any more.

You will find this short stanza in a Science Fiction story entitled “The Dead Lady of Clown Town” by Cordwainer Smith. The basic theme behind the story is that animals, genetically altered to look and act as humans – are indeed human and that everyone is more than that…

It just reminded me, about one of the things that men who are growing breasts are doing. We are taking all of humanity towards another, greater ideal of freedom. That you and I, that all men, and all women, have the right to our bodies – to decide what we should look like and who we really are.

Society continues to learn that everyone of us has equal right regardless of our personal gender, but it is slow learning for so many of our neighbors around the globe.

As an adult, if growing breasts or making other changes is the right thing for you to do, then go for it. I think that such makes us more human and is helping us reach our greater potential. And this will ultimately be the best for all our future.

Still, we live in a world where part of our local communities and part of whole sections of the world – scorn differences and dictate a narrow vision of who we can be. But we are a part of tide of great change of possibility…

I say, that if you are growing breasts or want to, that you are not alone. Be brave, be careful and be yourself. Hurray for men with breasts!
